General Massage Questions
You will be asked to fill out a health history form. Your therapist will discuss your history and your goals for the massage. Your therapist will explain the massage techniques and answer any questions that you have. You will be asked to get undressed to your comfort level, laying on the massage table under a sheet. Your body will remain covered unless the therapist is working on that area. There will be an open dialogue between the client and therapist about the pressure of the massage and if the areas of concern are being addressed. Please let the therapist know if you would like more or less pressure or if you would like to have more attention given to an area or have an area avoided. If you are uncomfortable in any way, please let the therapist know.
Massage is not a substitute for medical care. We would however like to be a part of your team of health care providers. Massage can produce therapeutic effects for stress reduction, pain relief, and many ailments.
Although massage is a safe treatment modality, there are circumstances when a massage may not be appropriate. If you have had recent surgery, we will need clearance from your physician to ensure the safest treatment plan for you. If you have a recent injury that might need medical treatment beyond our scope of practice. If you have an infection, fever, or otherwise feeling ill. Please discuss with your therapist if you have any questions or changes in your health history.
Children and teens are welcome to receive a massage. Parents or guardians will be asked to stay in the office and may be asked to be in the room depending on the age of the child. Parents must fill out and sign the intake and consent forms.
Office & Health Policies
The Peaceful Place follows all NYS and Monroe County policies regarding Covid-19. The massage room will be sanitized between each client. According to Monroe County, masking is optional at this time.
We are by appointment only and cannot accommodate walk-in appointments If possible, we do try to accommodate same-day appointments. Please call or text to see if there are appointments available.
Our therapists are by appointment only. Please discuss preferred day and time when making the appointment with your therapist.

Each therapist has their own cancellation/reschedule/late policy. Please ask your therapist for information regarding their policy. There may be a fee for cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice or missed or no show appointments.
All of our therapists are independent contractors. Each massage therapist will take payment at the time of your session. If you have a gift certificate or package please redeem it with the specific therapist from whom it was purchased. If you have a Peaceful Place gift card it may be redeemed with any therapist.
Gratuity is appreciated but never expected.
